Fleet number 50411 ‘Aberdeen Angus’ in Megabus livery was seen turning off York Place on to Elder Street on the approach to Edinburgh Bus Station. The vehicle was working the 1415 hrs Scottish Citylink 909 service from Stirling University and Stirling to Edinburgh via Grangemouth, Bo’ness and Edinburgh Airport.
Fleet number 54215 was seen in Frederick Street working an outbound Citylink 909 service to Stirling and Stirling University via Edinburgh Airport, Bo’ness and Grangemouth. Still in Megabus blue but debranded, the vehicle was new to Midland Red South in 2013. Now based at the Stagecoach West Scotland Cumbernauld depot, it arrived from Stagecoach South Wales earlier in 2023.
The coach was captured after exiting York Place and crossing Broughton Street onto Picardy Place. The Irizar i6 coach was working the Citylink 909 service from Edinburgh Bus Station to Stirling University via Edinburgh Airport, Bo’ness and Grangemouth. In this view, the coach has been captured in front of St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral. The church originated as the Chapel of St. Mary’s in 1814, became a Pro-Cathedral in 1878 and the Metropolitan Cathedral in 1886. This view has only been opened up since the demolition of tenements in the late 1960s.
This Scania/Irizar i6 is seen on Scottish Citylink service arriving on the indirect 909 from Glasgow via Cumbernauld, Stirling, Grangemouth, Bo’ness and Edinburgh Airport. This is effectively a Glasgow to Stirling service combined with one from Stirling to Edinburgh. The Edinburgh Coach Lines vehicle carries Citylink 6 Cities branding. This member of the Eirebus owned Edinburgh Coach Lines fleet was captured on Princes Street working an afternoon peak service 909 to Stirling University via Edinburgh Airport and Bo’ness and Grangemouth. The vehicle carries Citylink Gold livery for Citylink’s premium services to Aberdeen and Inverness. Only two journeys a day operate beyond Stirling to the university while the others run forward from Stirling to Cumbernauld and Glasgow.
Edinburgh Coach Lines 809 was seen exiting Frederick Street and joining Princes Street while operating the Scottish Citylink 909 service from Edinburgh to Stirling via Edinburgh Airport, Bo’ness and Grangemouth. The tri-axle coach was captured on an Easter Monday afternoon departure and is liveried for premium Citylink Gold services to Aberdeen and Inverness. Most services now run forward from Stirling to Cumbernauld and Glasgow but two a day serve Stirling University instead while one starts/terminates at Dunblane.
