A favorite shrine of businessmen dating back to the mid-17th century, Hanazono Shrine is also home to one of the largest Tori-no-Ichi festivals in Japan. This festival (photos here are from 2016) is held every November. Visitors buy rakes (kumade) for good luck, and line up great distances to make their way to the main shrine edifice.
