This Common Redshank (Tringa totanus) was loudly defending its nest and clearly not too happy about people passing by. I really didn’t want to disturb it, but the nest must have been right next to the path – the redshank came out chirping and calling even while I was still several meters away.
Sometimes it’s worth taking a second look when choosing where to settle down...
Of course, I didn’t stay long – just a quick photo before moving on. Still, I’m afraid I wasn’t the first, and probably not the last, to trigger that kind of reaction on this sunny day.
