The Flickr Southeastcoloradoplateau Image Generatr

While walking around the Pueblo Bonito area of Chaco Culture National Historical Park. The view is looking to the north through a set of passageways. My thought in composing the image was to align myself, so that I could capture one passageway after the other through the sets of walls. I liked the look as it kind of reminded me of a mirror view I’ve come across, where you see a mirror and then another mirror within that mirror, and then another mirror, looking off into the setting.

While at the Montezuma Valley Overlook with a view looking to the north-northeast to the Knife Edge and previous park entrance. This is in Mesa Verde National Park. What I wanted to capture with this image was a layered look from the nearby rubber rabbitbrush wildflowers to the backdrop of the rock formations and side of the ridge off in the distance.

A setting looking to the south while taking in views of a nearby forest with mostly overcast skies and a rolling hillside off into the distance. This is at a roadside pullout along U.S. Route 64 in northern New Mexico.

While on the 700 Years Tour with a view looking to the northeast from Sun Point View. The cliff dwellings and ruins on the other side of the Fewkes Canyon are of the Cliff Palace. This is in Mesa Verde National Park.

A setting looking to the southwest while taking in views across eroded and adobe formations present in this part of the Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness Area. My thought on composing this image was to angle my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward and bring out a sweeping view across this landscape. I felt there were layers present with the nearby flatness to my front and bluffs off in the distance. I later worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 7 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.

While walking around and exploring the Bisti Badlands with a view looking to the north-northeast to some eroded formations present in this part of Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness Area.

A setting looking to the northeast while taking in views across Fewkes Canyon to the cliff dwellings present in this part of Mesa Verde National Park. This was while on the 700 Years Tour with an overlook view from the Sun Point View. What I wanted to do in composing this image was to find a medium focal length in centering the cliff dwelling off in the distance, while still including enough of the surrounding national park landscape to add to the setting in the image. Metering the image properly was one thing I had to keep in mind in not blowing any of the highlights in those portions of the setting caught in sunlight while still being able to pull the more shadowed areas behind the cliff walls later in post-production without any color cast.

While taking in a view outside the visitor center at a sculpture and exhibit in Mesa Verde National Park. The setting is looking to the west with a backdrop of blue skies sunshine. The art display and sculpture is of the Ancestral Puebloan people as one climbed the cliff walls with foot and hand holds to get to their dwellings.

My thought on composing this image was to align myself, so that I could capture a view that brought out most of the shapes and formations in patterns in the ruins, while using the skies and clouds above as a backdrop and color contrast to complement the earth-tones in the lower portion of the image.

While starting out to hike the Knife Edge Trail with a view looking to the north-northeast across a grassy meadow to a lone evergreen tree. This is in Mesa Verde National Park. My thought on composing this image was to take advantage of the blue skies above as a backdrop to highlight and be a color contrast to the greens of the evergreen tree in my front.

While at the Fire Temple overlook with a view looking to the north-northeast to the namesake Ancestral Puebloan ruins. This is in Mesa Verde National Park.

This is in Mesa Verde National Park. Montezuma Valley is the valley in between and coming off the high ground and ridges to the image left in the national park.
