Location - Ararat, Victoria.
Train # - 7SA5 Intermodal.
Route - Sydney to Adelaide, Via Melbourne.
Locomotives - NR95, NR72, NR84.
Operator - Pacific National.
A lucky catch whilst in Ararat one day, was the rerouting of a Sydney-Adelaide Intermodal service through Victoria. Normally this service operates via Parkes, Broken Hill and Crystal Brook, however on this occasion was sent via Albury, Melbourne and Horsham.
Great Southern Railways Southern Spirit train from Brisbane to Adelaide rounds the Callington curve late on the afternoon with NR85 leading 7MA9 on 30-1-10
Stabled within Pacific Nationals Melbourne terminal amongst the containers and high rise buildings is Pacific Nationals Southern Spirit painted NR85 waiting for its next interstate working on 16-1-09
After dropping off 5AO5 at Pelican Point, NR84,XRB561,NR102 pass through Birkenhead running LE back to the AFT on 9-10-08
After placing intermodal wagons at Pelican Point, Pacific NAtionals NR84,XRB561,NR102 cross the Port River bridge running LE back to the AFT for provisioning on 9-10-08.
NR84 was only recently painted into the Southern Spirit scheme for Great Southern Rails passenger service.
