Stansted Park Garden Show near Rowlands Castle, Hampshire.

The 30th ... and final ... Garden Show at this venue. So sad.

Allium is a genus of monocotyledonous flowering plants with hundreds of species, including the cultivated onion, garlic, scallion, shallot, leek, and chives. It is one of about 57 genera of flowering plants with more than 500 species. It is by far the largest genus in the Amaryllidaceae, and also in the Alliaceae in classification systems in which that family is recognized as separate.

Funchal, Madeira.

A day up in the Monte Palace Gardens.

Clivia is a genus of monocot flowering plants native to southern Africa. They are in the family Amaryllidaceae, subfamily Amaryllidoideae. Common names are Natal lily or bush lily.

Specimens were collected by the British explorers William Burchell and John Bowie in 1815 and 1820, respectively. Clivia nobilis became the first named species when in 1828 the Kew botanist John Lindley named it in honour of Charlotte Percy (née Clive), Duchess of Northumberland (1787–1866), who was for a time the governess of the future Queen Victoria.

Clivia miniata, the Natal lily or bush lily, is native to woodland habitats in South Africa (Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal provinces) and Eswatini. It is also widely cultivated as an ornamental.
