It was nearly a month ago when I bought 19 different Greater Manchester Clippercards on eBay for £19, all ranging in date from 1980 to 1987. Among that little lot was this...one of two Teen Travel clippercards, this one offering the same thing as my Shop n Save clippercard for £2.20...a lot of money back then and even more today, at £10.78
When this was issued, Queen and David Bowie were at number one with Under Pressure, Julio Iglesias was at number three with Begin The Beguine (Volver A Empezar), Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark were a couple of places below at number five with Joan of Arc, the video for which featured Geordie actress Julia Tobin, two years before she played Brenda Hope in Auf Wiedersehen Pet and at number 19 was Barbara Gaskin with her cover of It's My Party...a hit for Lesley Gore back in 1963.

At the time, I'd not long come back from a week or two down at Devon Cliffs caravan park, which was owned by Butlins at the time...not far away from where the Royal Marines train in Lympstone. Being in the West Country, it was hotter than the rest of the UK.
