Thai Room on King West was our second of three stops, visiting some great Thai restaurants in Toronto. The place is tastefully decorated, with mostly banquette seating. It looks like they're set up to have tables out front in warmer weather.
We had a platter that included Calamari, Thai Shrimp Chips, Thai Cold Spring Roll, Shrimp Satay Skewers, Green Mango Salad, Thai Spring Rolls, and dipping sauces. Very nice!
Additional dishes were Royal Pineapple Fried Rice, Red Curry, Pad Thai, and Khao Soi. They were all beautifully presented and delicious but my favourite might have been the Khao Soi.
We had a cocktail and beer that was on special (two for $8).

I admit, I am no expert when it comes to Thai cuisine but I know what I like and I don't mind trying new things or new places. I recently dined at Thai Room in Cabbagetown and everything was delicious!
Our main dishes included Chicken with Tamarind Sauce, Ginger Chicken (Gai Phad Khing), Pad Kee Mao, and Pad See Ew with Shrimp. It was all very flavourful, with generous portions and we ended up taking home lots of leftovers.
If I had to pick a favourite, it would be the Phad Kee Mao with Chicken. The rustic noodles had a great texture and the onions, peppers, and ginger added great flavours. Of course, the other dishes were also delicious.
Dessert was something special. The Mango Sticky Rice was so good, with just the right amount of ripeness and sweetness. The star, however, was the Deep Fried Ice Cream! I have no idea how they did this without the ice cream melting and running all over the place. It was perfectly delicious!
If you're ever near Parliament and Carlton, give this place a try!
