A woman and a child examine a homeless Polar Bear with a shopping cart by street artist Mark Jenkins on the National Mall in Washington. The sculpture placed in a walkway between the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum drew a steady stream of interested people before being seized and destroyed by Park Police. The bear was part of a series of 5 life-sized installations deployed around the city to call attention to the plight of polar bears who are losing vast areas of their sea ice habitat due to global warming.
Surrounded by activists in polar bear costumes, Cindy Shogan, executive director of the Alaska Wilderness League, left, and Allison Warden, Alaska Native activist and performing artist are on the stage at a rally in Lafayette Square. Greenpeace, Sierra Club, Alaska Wilderness League, Earthjustice and Center for Biological Diversity and Care2.com held rally at the White House to deliver more than half a million petitions to President Obama against leases for oil drilling in the Arctic.

Goodwood Revival Festival 2014
The Festival is attended by >10000 people on average. It's a celebration of Goodwood Motor racing circuit, aerodrome and music, dance and good fun. Many many people are in costume from the years Goodwood was operating .. ie around the end of the 30s to the start of the 60s. There are also 'Re-enactors' dotted around and these 2 ladies were those. Hence, they had great timing and expression and pose for photographers ! I couldn't fail really haha !!

The Trash Queen wears a seven metres long train made from used clothing. Greenpeace activists as trainbearers present the Trash Queen as an ambassador of the Detox our fashion campaign and call on the public to pursue a sustainable fashion lifestyle. The message on the paper bags reads: "Trendy today - Trash tomorrow".
