DRS class 37s 37401 Mary Queen of Scotts and 37425 Concrete Bob - Sir Robert McAlpine climb up from Dent station to Rise Hill Tunnel with the Branch Line Society's Garsdale Growler tour from Derby to Carlisle via the Hope Valley, Manchester, Darwen and a reverse into Ribblehead Quarry sidings. 67005 hangs on the rear, Penyghent rises high in the far centre background. 27th of August 2023.
It has been a while since I've seen a Class 92 pass Winwick Junction especially anex EWS now DB Cargo one. Ex works No 92029 approaches Old Alder Lane bridge on 1Z64 17:10 Carlisle to Derby (BLS 'The Garsdale Growler' railtour). Royal Class 67, No 67005 was rear gunner on this occasion. 26th August 2023.

A Class 60 and later Mk2 coaches don’t really mix well as far as the passengers are concerned, so with the Branch Line Society’s ‘The Garsdale Growler’ tour 1Z64 1710 Carlisle to Derby being Class 60 hauled from Warrington to Derby 67005 ‘Queen’s Messenger’ was tail end Charlie to provide ETS for the coaching stock; Sunday 27th August 2023.
Looking superb in its shiny new DB red livery, 92029 sits at Warrington Bank Quay with the 1Z64 1710 Carlisle to Derby Branch Line Society 'The Garsdale Growler' tour, having taken over for the leg from Carlise to Warrington; 60024 was the local to take this forward on to Crewe. Sunday 27th August 2023.
This is the Garsdale Growler rail charter, promoted by the Branch Line Society. This rail charter ran in various stages: from Derby to Ribblehead (virtual quarry); Ribblehead (virtual quarry) to Carlisle, via the S&C. The stage seen here is 1Z63; from Ribblehead (virtual quarry) to Carlisle. The return ran from Carlisle down the WCML, with 92029 to Warrington Bank Quay and then a Class 60 (60024) back to Derby.
67005 "Queen's Messenger", is at the rear of this train.
Very lucky with the weather today. It did not rain and the train came in a period of sunshine!
DB Cargo's sparkling ex-works 92029 (formerly named "Dante") was the bonus traction for the Carlisle - Warrington Bank Quay leg of the Branch line Society 'The Garsdale Growler' Railtour.
Earlier in the day the tour traversed the Hope Valley and Bolton - Darwen - Blackburn line before visiting Ribblehead Virtual Quarry behind DRS 37401 & 37425.

92029 is seen passing through Woodacre, nr Garstang along with 67005 "Queen's Messenger" on the rear working the Branch Line Society "The Garsdale Growler" 1Z64 17:10 Carlisle to Derby on the 27th August 2023.
