Seoul Korea vintage VHS cover art for erotic classic "The Story of O" (1975) - "O My..."

This unusual cover art for the Just Jaeckin classic "The Story of O" (1975) plays up the film's literary roots and "love hurts" themes. The film indeed got an official VHS release in Korea, but not until 1993 and not without some cuts most likely. Very rare.

For my good contact gabonezu, who is a constant source of inspiration for me with her wonderful black and white work, and her great abstract shots. Please visit her stream, you won't regret it!

And if you were wondering, this is a close-up of part of a metal watering can.

NOTES:

1)
"Histoire d'O" is an erotic novel published in 1954 by Anne Desclos/Pauline Réage. Desclos said that she had written the novel as a series of letters to her lover Jean Paulhan, who admired the work of the Marquis de Sade.

2)
Fata Morgana (a mirage where objects on the horizon, such as islands, cliffs, ships or icebergs, appear elongated and elevated, like fairy-tale castles) is an Italian translation of Morgan le Fay. Morgan le Fay is the fairy shape-shifting half-sister and antagonist of King Arthur. And it is also though that Morgan's origins could be in Ireland, in the shape of the Morrigan, as she was also a shape-shifting witch, often appearing in animal form or as part of a triad of witches. Morrigan featured in the Ulster Cycle with Maebhe, her bulls and Chucullain...
