Microcline var. Amazonite ("White Cap"). Amazonite is the blue-green variety of the feldspar Microcline. The green color of the normally white microcline is caused by the presense of lead oxide. This specimen exhibits microcline "white caps" which occur when the source of lead oxide is exhausted or disrupted during growth of the crystals. As a result, lead-free white microcline will continue to be deposited on crystal faces. 2nd Mesabi Claim. Crystal Peak District. Park Co., Colo.
Agrellite. The mineral is a sodium calcium fluorosilicate. The specimen is seen here under natural light. Under shortwave ultraviolet light agrellite fluoresces pink. This piece is from the type locality. Kipawa Alkaline Compex. Les Lacs-du-Témiscamingue. Témiscamingue RCM, Abitibi-Temiscamingue. Québec, Canada
