Quite possibly _the_ subtemple of Daitoku-ji. Unfortunately it has been close for the last few years, Let's hope it reopens for the autumn season!

This photo stream needs a little green... Also taking the opportunity to dig up some older images: this one is from 2010, more than 12 years ago! Today I would process the image a little differently, likely brightening the foreground.

Hangesho is a strange plant that turns its upper leaves white instead of having flowers (*) They're used in Japanese gardens for the touch of color they bring in late June. Ryosoku-in is a great place to see them, as well as Toji-in.
(*) They do have tiny flowers but they're rather insignificant ;-)

So many fallen autumn leaves! And they didn't clean them every five minutes like in most other places so I didn't even have to set them up on the bamboo handrail myself (not that I would do that ;-)

The gate roof was replaced recently and will take a few years to be nicely covered with moss again...

I shot this picture 70.000 pictures ago ;-)

Not sure what all the flower are, but at least some are camellias. Note the bamboo holding some flowers over the water: it's normally used to hold a ladle for the water but there obviously no space for a ladle today :-)

I still need to get decent shots of Nison-in in autumn. On the todo list for next year!
