This was at the top of Hurricane Ridge (5,242 feet or 1,598 m). We saw lots of chipmunk so it wasn't hard to take a picture of them!

As much as I enjoyed shooting snowy landscapes all winter, I wish spring would get here already! It snowed a little at my apartment in Keizer yesterday...snow! The tulips are behind and the rain/cold just keep coming. All we can do is hope, I guess...

Here's another shot from my trip to Rainier. The wind was so brutal, but the blowing snow reflected the light quite nicely.

A month ago at Rainier, the conditions were almost perfect for sunrise...except for the wicked wind and the lack of high clouds. Shortly before we started taking photos, Jeff Barnhart noticed a distant silhouette of an animal in the distance the suddenly took off at a sprint and seemed to get bigger and bigger as it circled us. Maybe it was too dark to tell, but we were a little freaked out thinking it was a Cougar. Later, a couple park rangers clarified that it was probably just a fox.
