Saturday 3rd May 2025 saw the first of the years public railtours to visit Devon. The English Riviera Express (1Z82 0634 Poole to Kingswear (for Dartmouth)) worked by SR Bulleid 'West Country Class' 4-6-2 No: 34046 'BRAUNTON' joined by 57311 and 47810 due to the risk of lineside fire.
I watched her go by at Waterside, Paignton on the Dartmouth Steam Railway where I also got to capture the 12:25 Paignton to Kingswear and 12:55 Kingswear to Paignton services worked by 75014 'Braveheart'.

Rebuilt Bulleid light pacific No. 34039 'BOSCASTLE' is seen under restoration in Loughborough Shed, on January 25th 2025.
She was built at Brighton as 21C139, entering service on September 16th 1946. Her first allocation was Stewarts Lane (BAT).
She underwent conversion from her original 'spam can' condition at Eastleigh works, between November 1958, and January 1959.
Subsequent allocations as follows:-

Recoded 75A January 1950
Stratford (30A) April 1951
Brighton (75A) June 1952
Bournemouth (71B) February 1959
Eastleigh (71A) September 1962
Recoded 70D September 1963
She was withdrawn in May 1965, and sold to Woodham Brothers, Barry, for scrap. She arrived there in September 1965.
She was purchased for preservation, and moved to the Great Central Railway, Loughborough, where she arrived on January 22nd 1973.
She moved under her own power for the first time in preservation on November 7th 1992.
