West Indian Jasmine

A few weeks back I posted a shot of this flower although it was very much smaller than this at the time. As well, I had lost its name and was rather confused because it was somewhat like what we usually call an Ixora.

I have since discovered that this particular variety is sold under the rather exotic name of West Indian Jasmine, while a google search takes me to Ixora every time. We also had at our old home although of a much different colour.

We have standard Ixoras also which have a far more upright form and always flowering, whereas this variety has very long branches that get weighed down and tend to horizontal which is why it is staked up. This one is a much more proficient flower maker than our old one which used to give us a single head about once every five years.

Just one quick upload today as we are pretty flat out. A 34 degree day with more storms predicted in SE Qld.
