It took my mom a VERY long time to learn how to drive, so we started her off really easy. Huntington Gardens, Los Angeles. April 1960.

Like most families in the 1950s and early '60s, my parents owned only one car - a green 1953 Pontiac Chieftan with a cream-colored roof. Mom was petrified to drive it, even though it had a Hydromantic automatic transmission.

So, my father decided to start her out the easy way in this old four wheeled wagon. It wasn't until 1972 that mom finally learned to drive my dad's 1965 Pontiac Bonneville. (This photo was taken with a camera loaded up with Kodak's Kodachrome slide film).

MOM!! It's not fair! How come my sister gets a nice orange ball and all I get are these crappy dented hub caps? You love her more! Whaaaa... (Aug 1963). by WAVZ 13

From my Dad's Kodachrome slide collection. I'm almost positive that this was taken in one of Mom & Dad's friends backyard in the Woodmont neighborhood of Milford Connecticut. Aug 1963

Oh darling... I just LOVE my new 1965 Chrysler New Yorker! The unmatched comfort of its interior, the curved glass for improved visibility, Torsion-Air suspension for the smoothest ride ever! Meet you at the country club for a Martini. by WAVZ 13

Girl in a black bathing suit on Blurry Beach. I recently retrieved (garbage picked) 100' of what appears to be someone's vintage 35mm copy negs of movies from the late 1960s(?)

This will thankfully be the last.

My sister and Mom hanging out in the back yard in the late afternoon. For some reason lost to time, Sis looks quite miserable while Mom is glad to smile for the photo. Milford CT. August 1968 by WAVZ 13

I took this shot with my Kodak Instamatic 104 loaded up with a cartridge of 126 Kodachrome film. Kodachrome was the closest thing to today's digital photography. The colors stay crisp, true and realistic for decades. Kind of like a film time machine.
