Sony Kit 55-210 View Halfway Across Manhattan

View from north section of High Line, at 33 St. just off 12 Avenue. The number 1 on 1 Penn Plaza is approximately halfway in between 7 and 8 Avenue. No bad for this slow SONY kit zoom on overcast afternoon 8-20-2017.

When I walk on this part of the High Line it is one of the precise, particular spots to stop at, just above the sidewalk and fence at railyard along w33 st.

33rd on High Line (Looking East) by sjnnyny

33rd on High Line (Looking East)

On the Highline, passing over West 33 Street, view towards East Side. 11 Avenue cross over the yard on the visible overpass. Just a bit ot the view remains of the Empire State Building from here.

Deceptively quiet vista here at the moment. But it is Saturday and there are less trucks and rail cars. Hardly anyone otherwise other times walks down this block.

Futher to the right, out of frame, is the larger part of the 1st phase of Hudson Yards development racing towards completion. A luxe exclusive enclave for the most part.

At some point in several years, perhaps, phase 2 will start, and the railyard section to the right will be covered over by a platform for more towers, especially residential.

No Windows or Walls (20170720-DSC07329-Edit)

It was cool to look out at the city before the walls go up.

True Blue (20170317-DSC08516-Edit)

I originally wanted a higher floor, but I like this perspective to see 34th Street, MSG and the core of 1 Penn Plaza.

Lost (20170317-DSC08502-Edit)

Wide angle view from the New Yorker Hotel. The windows are very dirty and left spots all over the image. I did what I could in processing, but even the starbursts are mushy.

34th Street (20170317-DSC08769-Edit)

View from the 21st floor of the New Yorker Hotel. I wanted a higher floor to see more of midtown, but this lower floor gave a good view of Madison Square Garden. MSG was red, white and blue earlier in the evening when the Rangers were playing. The color scheme changed after the game ended.

MSG Overhead View (DSC00400)

Here's another look at the top of Madison Square Garden with 1 Penn Plaza on the left. I only took these downward facing shots at Columbus Circle and MSG. I wonder what other interesting shots I missed.

Aerial 1 Penn Plaza and Madison Square Garden (DSC00397)

The light was starting to get better here with stronger night lights. I wish MSG had Rangers or Knicks colors, but this is still a pretty cool shot.
