Yudong New Area (generally 2010s), an absolutely massive eastward expansion that essentially doubled the built-up area of the city. This was the planned twin counterpart to the tourist-focused city walls project I just posted, and was similarly intended to promote real estate development as well as economic diversification.
Seen here: the monumentally-scaled cultural center, under construction. At left: the Datong Library (Preston Scott Cohen, 2009-2013), with tesselated facade; at right: the Art Museum (Foster + Partners, 2012-2021), with framing for folded-pyramid roof, later to be clad in weathering steel.

City of Santa Monica Parking Structure #6 (Behnisch Architekten, with Studio Jantzen & IPD, 2009-2013). Contemporary parking garage, with the facade as a loose screen of opaque, tilted panels to admit daylighting, and a stairway pressed up against that to lend it some compositional life. I actually like it a little better by night, which mutes the colors of the panels and lets the stairway be the main graphic element.
