This season and this year ended in full circle from where I was a year ago. They say life always moves on, and with that I can say that I have managed to find such immense joy in my heart for some months now, moving on with my life.
As the season brings joy and hope, that is exactly what I have found in my heart, and in the memories I have been creating here lately. I could not ask for a better way to end 2023 than with love and joy in my heart.

There is always something magical about the first snow of the season. The first snow came a bit late this year, but it was still fun to watch as it would come down and slowly lay down across the forest.

I am not very good at buying gifts. Either I see something I think the recipient will like and then second guess myself. Or I am so sure they will like it that I think they have probably already bought it for themselves.

But when I saw this garden wall ornament that has a light in it, in shades of blue and green, I thought it would be perfect for my friend. I figured that if she had bought one already she would have a pair.

Christmas Eve, Sunday, 24th December 2023.

This was quite the whirlwind of a Christmas this year. Christmas Eve Eve was in Tennessee, then down to Alabama on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, then back home Christmas Evening. The roads were quiet, and almost every business was closed along the lonely road home. Still, it was a very Merry Christmas this year.

I was gifted a special mint coin commemorating J.R.R. Tolkien, one of my favorite authors. To the one who knows me so well, thank you. This Christmas will forever be in my heart.

I had a few musical goals this year, and did not accomplish them… not even one was completed. But several were started, so that just means I can finish them in 2024, and now that it's quiet at work I definitely have time between calls to practice them.

All of my meat was frozen, so I had to use bacon for my lunch salad… better than not eating, right?

My church did a candlelight Christmas Eve service as usual, but they did it in the morning during regular church times by blacking out the windows and passing out candles across the congregation. It was beautiful, minus a couple wax-spilling accidents, and some musical mayhem on stage. What a wonderful Christmas Eve this year!

For Christmas we celebrated on Saturday with a formal dinner at home, followed by Christmas Ever at my parents' house with a matching pajamas and egg nog. There was so much planning that went into today, and so much work- but it was such a great Christmas Eve Eve to spend with my parents. We all had such a great time together.

I never heard about cleaning your blades, I would just replace them. But it's a great best practice to clean your blades regularly to extend the life and keep the cuts razor sharp (just remember to unplug the saw!)
