In the spring of 1989, 4044 and 4051 were repainted into commenorative lveries to mark the 150th anniversaries of the Brandling Junction and Newcastle and North Shields Railway. A few days after unveiling, the pair is seen at Palmersville.
On 13 May 1989, 4044 arrives at Walkergate.
On 10 June 1989, 4044 and 4051 are seen at Chillingham Road.
On 25 June 1989, 4051 and 4044 have arrived at Tynemouth on a special conveying visiting dignitaries to the Tynemouth Village Festival. 4075 heads for St James.
