452 XVE (866 NHT) 8576. Bristol FS6G/ECW convertible new to Bristol Omnibus in 1961 seen at Taunton Vintage Bus Day 2-2-24. One of 4 convertibles to replace ancient open-top Bristol Ks at Weston super Mare on summer seafront open-top services and on normal Weston services with rooves during winter. Withdrawn in 1981, it was acquired by Stagecoach, Perth (no. 067) and was transferred to Hampshire Bus (101) in 1990. Reregistered XSL 228A, it passed to Wilts & Dorset (4001) in 1992 and to Mac Tours, Edinburgh in 1999. It was with Dreadnought Coaches, Alnwick from 2002 to 2013 and was acquired by East Yorkshire (645) where it was reregistered 80 EYC for a while. It was acquired for preservation by Dr. Mike Walker in 2019 and reregistered 452 XVE. Now painted in Tilling cream livery joining 869 NHT 8579 with Bristol Omnibus Vehicle Collection. The original low-floor bus achieved as a result of lowering overall height.
