ME-109 digital profile of Oberleutnant Franz Von Werra. Von Werra was downed in 1940 during the Battle of Britain. He escaped from a maximum security prison camp in Canada, made his way through the U.S. to Mexico and South America. He returned to service in April of 1941 but disappeared due to engine failure over the North Sea near Katwijk, Holland on October 25, 1941 and presumed killed in action. His story was made into a movie in the 1950's called "The One That Got Away" and is also the subject of a book. His entire biography can be read on Wikipedia, it's quite interesting.
