The WW1 Naval Casualties list records F.11001 Arthur Weavers as “Killed or died by means other than disease, accident or enemy action”, (which is a bit of a head-scratcher!), on the 28th April 1917. An Air Mechanic, 1st Grade, he was stationed at the Royal Naval Air Station at Dover. He was born on the 19th March 1886 at Eye, Suffolk. The next of kin informed of his death was his mother, Georgina, who was living then at Langton Green, Eye, Suffolk.
The Naval Service records of Arthur Weavers, born 19th March 1886 at Eye, Suffolk, are held at the National Archive under reference ADM 188/582/11001
They commence in 1916.

Birth
The birth of an Arthur Weavers was registered in the Hartismere District of Suffolk in the April to June quarter, (Q2), of 1886.
1891 Census
The 6 year old Arthur, born Eye, Suffolk, was recorded at a dwelling at Langton Green, Eye. This was the household of his parents, Arthur, (aged 50 and a Carpenter from Stuston, Suffolk) and Annie, (aged 48 and from Saxtead, Suffolk). As well as Arthur, their other children living with them are:-
Laura……………..aged 16………….born Eye……….Dressmaker
Frederick………..aged 14…………born Eye………..Blacksmiths Apprentice
Ellen……………….aged 12………….born Eye
Alice……………….aged 11………….born Eye
Louisa…………….aged 7…………….born Eye
1901 Census
The 15 year old, (or possibly 16, it looks like the census taker has possibly tried to amend the second numeral), Arthur was working as a Carpenters Apprentice. The family were still recorded at Langton Green, although the next dwelling on one side is the “Eight Bells Inn” on Castle Street. As well as parents Arthur, (61) and Annie, (58), still living with them is their daughter Louisa, aged 17 and a dressmaker. Completing the household is Arthur and Annies’ grandson, Charles Wright, aged 9 and born Ipswich, Suffolk.
1911 Census
The family were still at Langton Green. Father Arthur C, (72) looks like he has written “Carpenter unable to work”. He has signed his census return Arthur Charles Weaver. He and Anna, (69), have been married either 36 or 56 years and have had 7 children, of which 6 were then still alive. Still at home are two single children, Alice, (30) and Arthur, (25 – Carpenter).
On the day
That Royal Navy categorisation of Killed or died by means other than disease, accident or enemy action still has me a bit mystified – presumably its either murder, suicide, or body found but died of unknown cause, unless it extends to natural causes such as heart failure.
The death of a 31 year old Arthur Weavers was recorded in the Dover District of Kent in the April to June quarter of 1917.
