Special:
- Typ 1 ("Beetle") was a combination of ideas, which were "composed" by Ferdinand Porsche.
- However, most parts of the car are designed by Béla Barényi and / or Erwin Komenda.
- According to others, the Hungarian Josef Ganz was the designer.
- Fact is that the Volkswagen KdF prototype (in 1934) very similar is to the Tatra V570, developed by Hans Ledwinka, engineer Czech automaker Tatra and the Zündapp Typ 12, designed by Ferdinand Porsche.
- So it remains unclear who is the actual creator of the "Beetle" concept.
- The characteristic four-cylinder air-cooled boxer engine of the Beetle was designed by Franz Reimspiess.

The two little woven coir ones (left foreground) each contain several tiny metal jingle bells and there is little space within for the jingles to move. As a result, when shaken you hear several light metallic tings. The coir doesn't muffle the sound but I would say softens it slightly. All the other rattles contain river pebbles and have bottoms composed of dried gourd. The dried gourd bottom is hard and when struck by the pebbles has a crisp sound. When the pebbles hit the sides of the rattle the sound is soft and diminished. A good musician can roll the pebbles on the inner sides and create a lovely prolonged softer sound to contrast with the raspier harder sounds produced when shaken towards the gourd bottom. To the far left are a pair of midsize double rattles, each having a U shaped handle. (You can see them clearly in my other photo). In all cases, the quality of sound is dependent on the skill and knowledge of the percussionist.

This huge area of tropical rain forest in Johor , Malaysia is over 130 million years old and occupies an area of around 49,000 hectares . It is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna of which many species are not found elsewhere in the tropics .
Look up Endau-Rompin National Park for more details . Try to be there aound May -July and get up early to catch the river boat ride so as not to miss the mist . Put on thick socks and long pants to reduce leech bites when tracking in the jungle .
