The Minnesota Twins hosted the Kansas City Royals for game 3 of the 3 game weekend series at Target Field earlier this afternoon.
After a pitching duel led to a 1-1 tie after 9 innings the game entered extra innings. In the top of the 10th inning Kansas City took a 2-1 lead after a line drive single drove in the go ahead run. The Twins wouldn’t respond in the bottom of the 10th inning and lost the series finale 2-1. Despite the loss Minnesota won the 3 game series 2 games to 1 and improved their regular season record to 29-23.
It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the ballpark and as a result the announced attendance was 32,501.
The Minnesota Twins hosted Mike Trout and the visiting Los Angeles Angels last Sunday (4/27/25) for game 3 of the 3 game weekend series at Target Field in front of 18,615 fans.
The Twins looking to complete the 3 game sweep were led by starting pitcher Joe Ryan as he pitched 7 shutout innings, allowing only 4 hits and 1 walk and striking out 11 batters. All star shortstop Carlos Correa went 3 for 4 at the plate and first baseman Ty France and catcher Ryan Jeffers both drove in 2 runs. The Twins won the afternoon match 5-0 to complete the sweep and improve to 12-16 on the season.
A nice bonus was getting to watch arrivals to MSP Airport pass right over Target Field on approach to runway 17 due to strong southerly winds. In this photo a Sun Country Airlines Boeing 737-800 is seen passing over.
