This amazing capture was photographed in Meridian, Idaho. A snowy and cold morning in December and this pheasant flew in front of my lens. The fog in the background was just right.
Right in the middle of adjusting my Canon 100-400MM L lens for handheld stabilizer mode II. I was panning across and talk about getting startled.
Captured at Kathryn Albertson Park in Boise, Idaho. I sat on a bench in the park, had my camera mounted on my swivel head tripod and waited.
A group of geese flew into frame and landed on the water all in different positions. I began speed shooting, capturing this really cool frame.

Double-crested Cormorant, sunbathing his wings, plus a little bit of showing off.
In the editing process, I wanted to show off his wings by allowing more of the natural light to come through and keep a soft look under his wings while retaining the detail.
Photographed inside Kathryn Albertson Park in Boise, ID.
Random photos that I shot yesterday (March 3) at my home, at the local Costco Pond and near Ellensburg, Washington. I may post some eagle photos but they were to distant for my equipment.
Geese are getting ready to nest along the Yakima River. This pair of geese must spend time at the local parks. They were not concerned that I was watching them.

Photos incidental to a trip to Cle Elum that did not go as planned. I was to meet my grandson and his aunt, but they decided to turn back after hitting snow, slippery highway, and stop and go traffic. I had some great opportunities for photos, but poor technique today resulted in many photos that are not as sharp as I would like. I did get some nice sharp tree branches and twigs next to a blurry eagle. IMG_3850
Photographed at my home. Experimenting with filling the frame using a 400 mm lens. The minimum focus is such that small birds will not fill the frame. I added 25 + 12 mm extension tubes. The already limited depth of field is even more limited with the extension tubes but they worked well for what I wanted to accomplish. IMG_2693
