In between Bijlmerplein and Station Bijlmer Arena is a square named Hoekerodeplein. This is the canopy of the Hampton by Hilton Amsterdam Arena Boulevard.
Hoekenrode
Hoekenrode, also popularly called Hoekenrodeplein, is a large square between the Amsterdamse Poort and Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA Station in the Bijlmermeer district in Amsterdam-Zuidoost.
A Hampton by Hilton, Vattenfall and several catering establishments are located in the Nieuw Amsterdam building at Hoekenrode. In 2014, the square was redesigned with new street furniture and striking 20-year-old redwood trees.
The street/square got its name in 1984, after the Hoekenrode farm near De Bilt.
The artwork City cells by Karin van Dam hangs above the eastern entrance and exit.

New Metropolis on the Bijlmerplein in Zuidoost.
Bijlmerplein
Bijlmerplein is the central square of the Amsterdam neighborhood Bijlmermeer and also of the whole of Amsterdam-Southeast. The square is named after the Bijlmermeer.
The Amsterdamse Poort is a large shopping center and office area in Amsterdam-Zuidoost. It is located east of Bijlmer ArenA station and the Arena area between Bijlmerdreef, Flierbosdreef, Hoogoorddreef and Foppingadreef.
The shopping center is the main shopping area of the district. The Amsterdamse Poort offices housed the district office, among other things, until it moved in 2006 to a new-build office on Anton de Komplein. The most famous office building in the area is Het Zandkasteel designed by Ton Alberts & Max van Huut and built in 1987. ING had its head office there until 2020.
Most buildings in the Amsterdamse Poort have the Bijlmerplein as their address.
The Hoekenrodeplein is located next to Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA station, which is connected to the shopping center through a pedestrian gate in the U-shaped Nieuw Amsterdam Building, later a hotel, located on the square.

Coffee Fellows Amsterdam Bijlmerplein 20/09/2020 14h51
One of the 5 Coffee Fellows locations in the Netherlands at the moment (*October 2020) in the center of Amsterdam Zuid-Oost on the Bijlmerplein.
The successful German coffee chain “Coffee Fellows” has sold its Dutch activities to two entrepreneurs from Twente who will further develop the chain in the Netherlands.
Chiel Beckmann and Karel van Lange take over five existing Dutch Coffee Fellows stores from the German parent company. “We want to make this concept, which is very successful in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, a success in the Netherlands as well,” says Beckmann. "With over 230 shops in Germany, the Bavarian chain is the market leader in our eastern neighbors."
“Coffee Fellows initially tried to gain a foothold in the Netherlands on its own initiative, but, as it turned out after the first year, more local know-how and a Dutch approach is needed to achieve that”, adds Van Lange . "We will adapt the concept to the Dutch market and then roll it out throughout the country."
As the current leaseholder of the Enschede site, Beckmann has seen the working method from within and is convinced that together with the right Dutch partners they have a good basis for an undivided success. A new leaseholder is therefore being sought for his shop in Enschede.

Coffee Fellows
Coffee Fellows is a German coffeeshop chain founded in 1999 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany by Kathrin Tewes and co-managed by her and her husband, Olympic Gold medalist Stefan Tewes who joined her in management in 2000. As of 2018, they have about 209 stores in Germany, most of them franchised. This makes it the one which has the most, before Starbucks who have 160 stores.
During a stay in London with her husband, Kathrin Tewes realised there were not as many coffeeshops of this kind in Germany. The idea of the coffee chain was to establish a comfortable environment (the company's slogan is "Feel at home"), luxurious, modern and cozy. Other drinks and snacks are also offered. The first store was opened in the Leopoldstraße in 1999, a second one in Düsseldorf flopped but they gained ground after this setback.
In 2000, Kathrin's husband Stefan quit his job as a consultant for Roland Berger to work with his wife. Since then the company has placed itself in the top 10 coffee shop chains in Germany.
In 2009 Coffee Fellows earned a Coffee Shop Award for the continuous improvements and further development of the concept as well as the whole management of the business. At the end of 2010 Coffee Fellows was running 36 shops, mostly in southern Germany, and the business planned to expand into northern Germany. In 2015, Tewes added 10 stores, and opened their 100th coffee shop in December 2015. This made them the third largest coffeeshop chain in Germany after McCafé and Starbucks.
As of August 2020 there were 239 stores in the following countries:
Austria3
Belgium3
Germany 220
Luxembourg 3
Netherlands 5
Spain 1
Switzerland 3
Burger King Bijlmerplein 30/05/2020 16h17
In the end of May Amsterdam is slowly opening up again. Restaurants and bars may welcome guests again. Burger King invented a new word "Whopper Distancing". Social distancing will remain the main recipe to fight spreading the virus.

FLATTEN THE CURVE
Low shuttercount and the buttons are nice and stiff. Just some kind of liquid has tarnished the body, but nothing substantial.
A lot less than my other D80 than I mainly used for underwater photography. This is a backup/repair body.
Working at DEA today.
Great colleagues!
In the right side of the frame you can see girls standing in line in front of Heineken Music Hall for the Fifth Harmony concert. This picture was shot at 17:58 hours. Lots of girls were already in front of the HMH at 8:00 am!
