In Savannah, Georgia, on December 31st, 2023, was Spanish moss in crepe myrtle trees at the northwest corner of Barnard Street and West Bolton Street. The two-story house is a duplex built circa 1875 according to its record in the GNAHRGIS database, a "contributing property" in the Savannah Victorian Historic District, 74000665 and 82002392 on the National Register of Historic Places.

Stagecoach Manchester 27826, about to pass the East Lancashire Railway Station on Bolton Street in Bury, the beautiful Lancashire countryside leading to Harwood making for a nice backdrop. My camera failed to pick up the bus's route destination display, but it was likely working the 469 to Bury from Tottington. Recent pictures of the bus on Flickr, indicate that the Alexander Dennis Enviro 300 is based at Stagecoach's Middleton bus garage.

Following up behind is Go North West, Streetdeck 'Ultroliner' 3442 on the 471 Rochdale service. This bus was formerly 'Diamond Bus North West' 40754, being one of a number of Streetdecks acquired from Diamond by Go North West in 2023. This occurred when TfGM awarded much of the Bolton and Wigan bus franchises to Go North West, which had formerly been operated by Diamond.

The double barrel-vaulted roof behind the buses is the former Temperance Billiard Hall (latterly Bury Snooker Club). This building has a wonderful red brick and ornate green tilled facade, featuring some rather nice timber framed windows. The building has local council historic listed status, and is currently used as a dance and fitness studio. Additionally, there is in Chorlton, Manchester an even more ornate former billiard hall of a similar design. This is now used by JD Wetherspoons as a public house known as The Sedge Lynn; another splendid building saved by this British company.

7076 has just buffered up to 832 before working the 1625 Bury Bolton Street to Rawtenstall as part of the East Lancs railways western themed spring diesel gala.
I never saw Class 42s working on the mainline, as a kid growing up in Teignmouth i only got to see some on various scrap lines at Laira, St Phillips Marsh and Swindon but i did see many Hymeks working and they were magnificent. I remember an Oxford to Paignton and return working on a summer Saturday that always produced a pair. Hearing them thrash out of Teignmouth onto the sea wall on a hot summers evening is a treasured memory.
If these had been renumbered i guess they would have been 42032 and 35076.

Preserved Class 35 'Hymek' D7076 on the East Lancs Railway at Bury (Bolton Street) station on 18 July 2004.

These days its has been repainted in BR blue with a full yellow warning panel, and was recently (July) one of the 'stars' of the ELR Diesel Gala.
