The church on top of Corcovado Mountain, where the Christ the Redeemer statue stands, is the Sanctuary of Christ the Redeemer. This is a Catholic sanctuary of the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro, and it's also known as the Chapel of Our Lady of Aparecida, Brazil's patron saint. It's located at the base of the statue, within the hollow pedestal.
