In 2022, the United States experienced a severe shortage of infant formula as a result of the 2021–2022 global supply chain crisis compounded by a large scale product recall after two babies allegedly died after consuming Abbott infant formula, import restrictions, and market concentration. During this crisis mothers who were breastfeeding their babies stepped in and helped by providing pumped breast milk to those who were unable to get milk for their babies.

I am so proud of this young lady for connecting with a mother of a newborn that unfortunately was not able to breastfeed her child and was not able to get enough formula for her baby. A bond between the these two women was formed.
