There are several common names for butterfly in Welsh, including:
iâr fach yr haf = little hen of summer.
pili pala = from the French papillion?
gloyn byw = living ember of burning coal.
Fate has bequeathed this living ember a window latch for a tombstone, and an epitaph of the makers name: PHOENIX... Sacred firebird, rising from the ashes. Symbol of rebirth. Immortality. Renewal. Transformation.

Calystegia soldanella. Sea Bindweed. The Welsh common name is: 'carn ebol y môr': sea colts foot. Because the shape of the leaves, are like that of Coltsfoot, Tussilago farfara.

Fe ddaliwyd styrsiwn 264 pwys, gan Robert Davies o Llanelli ym mae Abertawe yn 2004. Styrsiwn Americanaidd (Acipenser oxyrinchus) oedd hwnwn, wedi colli eu ffordd rhywsut. Mae'r styrsiwn Ewropeaidd (Acipenser sturio) wedi gofnodi yn yr afon Hafren a'r Tywi. Fe gofnodwyd un yn y Tywi ym 1993. Ni chaniateir cymryd y pysgodyn yma mwach o dan ddeddf gwlad.
Sut i fwyta câviar:- yn oer, ar ddarn o dost, gyda Champagne neu Vodka... os oes rhaid gyda sudd lemon drosto. Rhaid defnyddio llwy o aur, neu llwy bren, neu llwy wedi'w wneud o gragen. Byth gyda llwy arian neu ddur.
Acipenser sturio. Russian caviar tin. This fish, the sturgeon, has been recorded in the Severn and Tywi rivers. It is illegal to take this fish in the UK. How to eat caviar: cold, on a piece of toast, with Champagne or Vodka, if you must, some lemon juice. Served with a golden; wooden, or mother of pearl spoon. Never with a silver or steel spoon.

Dosima fascicularis. Gwyran Las. Wedi tirio ar draeth Broad Haven Sir Benfro. Mae'r gwyran wedi glynnu wrth ddarn o blastic gwyn, a oedd yn nofio ar wyneb y môr. Mae'r gwyran wedi dechrau tyfu bwi eu hun ar y darn plastic, fel na fydd rhaid dibynnu arno i gadw'r creadur ar y wyneb.
Dosima fascicularis. A Buoy Barnacle, stranded on Broad Haven beach. This barnacle has attached itself to a small piece of white plastic that was floating on the surface of the sea. However it has started to create its own buoy to keep it at the surface.
