For this months sketch challenge - I used the really blocky one, and accidentally color blocked this card! :)
Used the HA digi kit 'Field Flowers' and the clear stamp 'Made with Love', as well as some HA layering papers and pearls. Oh, and I stamped the butterflies (also from Made with Love) on some acetate packaging since I didn't have anything else to use. :)

My first wine label card by tesa4Him (Theresa)

My first wine label card

Well, I bit the bullet and made my first wine label card. I did it with fear and trepidation because I did NOT want to ruin a label! I know, I'm a little paranoid! Overall, I'm happy with the card, except for the fact that the label is kind of dwarfed by the floral border. I could say that I was trying to make it look like you were looking at a vineyard off in the distance! ;D

Finally got the Versamark ink pad! LOVE it! But I didn't wipe off all of my gray ink from a previous use, so parts of the 'Envelope Liner' on here are gray. :(
Trees are randomly topped with some yummy Hero Arts pearls. :)

warm fuzzies

A card made using all three Hero Arts challenges this month! First, Autumn; I thought the third leaf in the TwoPeas HA digi "Four Leaves" kit looked a lot like a tree, so that brings us to the color challenge, which I used to represent the leaves changing colors. And finally, the window cards - um, this is probably my first window card, so my cutting (as you will see in the detail shot) is pretty crummy - guess I need to invest in a good Xacto knife. ;)
TFL!! :)

With Sympathy leaves

A dear friend (more like a sister) lost her mom this week so I made her this card. Started out with a piece of pool designer paper with some pale writing on it. Don't know why I chose Shabby Shutters, Pumice Stone and Crushed Olive to go on the pool but liked the effect. Added it to a vanilla colored Bazzill card and found a scrap of vanilla-ish Basic Grey paper for the sentiment.

Inspired by Peanut Brittle - Hostess Cooking Up Challenge

The Apronettes are in a cooking mood this week! I was inspired by my Peanut Brittle (recipe here www.flickr.com/photos/scrappin_bari/5464313036/in/photost... ) to create this card. The Floating Flowers were inked in Wild Honey Distress Ink, smooched with Cling Dots inked in Antique Linen, stamped on white cs, then clear embossed. Matted on natural cs stamped with the Cling Dots inked in Vintage Photo. The kraft cs is stamped lightly with the envelope pattern inked in Antique Linen as is the scalloped circle. The sentiment is cut apart and curved on the block. See this discussion thread to play along www.flickr.com/groups/heroarts/discuss/72157626100448646/
See Jennifer McGuire's post heroarts.com/blogs/club/2011/02/16/smooch/ on the smooching technique! TFL!!

One-Layer Happy Thoughts (front)

I was inspired to make this card after seeing Anette Hjerpaasen's fabulous One-Layer Hello Card that she sent to Dawn.

I used 140# watercolor paper as my card base, so it would still feel thick and luxurious, even though it is only one layer. I stamped Hero Arts S5146 Bold Flourish twice on the card front using VersaMark watermark ink and then heat embossed with Ranger seafoam white embossing powder.

Then I used Eclipse Tape to mask off the horizontal bands. I used Tsukineko sponge daubers to apply Distress Inks to each band. The top has Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans. The middle has Dried Marigold and Rusty Hinge. And the bottom has Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint. For each band, I applied the lighter color first, a single stripe of the darker color, and then blended that in with more of the lighter color to give the graduated effect.

I removed the masking. Then I stamped the "happy thoughts" sentiment from Hero Arts CL267 Card Messages using Ranger Archival Ink in jet black. Then I added three different sized pearls to the darker edge of each band from Hero Arts CH213 Sea Mixed Accents (blue), CH216 Sunshine Mixed Accents (orange), and CH214 Earth Mixed Accents (bronzy green).

To finish the card, I stamped and embossed the Bold Flourish design on the back of the card, too. (If you try this, be sure to lay the card out flat when you emboss, or you will heat the embossing on the front side and may stick it to your work surface or smudge the original embossing!)

Friend Heather Maria by ScrappinBari (Linda W)

Friend Heather Maria

Just sharing a card I made for Heather Maria as she's been such a great friend to me! Just heard that she rec'd it.

This was my fourth bg panel made using the Floating Flowers cling and Joy's technique video. jtcardmaking.blogspot.com/2010/05/my-first-technique-vide...
I had a 12x12 piece of Basic Grey paper and I kept stamping it with various color combos - you're probably sick of seeing them but I had such fun with them!

I used Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint and Shabby Shutter Distress Inks on this one - misted and blended before inking my stamp. After dry I overstamped with the Friend Definition in Vintage Photo - corrugated and distressed.

The matching Cling label came to me from Heather so I was thrilled to use it here. Stamped and clear embossed in Crushed Olive and then crumpled it a bit and distressed with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo. I stamped part of a second label and punched out a circle to add dimension. Couldn't resist adding a blue butterfly from the stash that Heather sent me. TFL!
