One of my leftover Monarchs from a summer shoot at the Dixon Gardens in Memphis. It won't be in the 40s in Memphis until Thursday, and then in the 50s on the weekend.
Each year the Gathering of Eagles Weekend is staged at three state parks in Kentucky: Kentucky Dam Village, Lake Barkley, and Kenlake. During the time at Kentucky Dam, van trips are taken to Ballard WMA west of Paducah, Kentucky, which is home to numerous Bald Eagles. There are several stops within Ballard, which allow serious photographers to get shots of these beautiful birds.
According to naturalists, this is approximately a two and one-half year old bird. Managed by Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, Ballard WMA comprises about 15,000 - 16,000 acres. It attracts numerous waterfowl species and Bald Eagles.
I think the people who are supposed to shovel the walks for the townhouses next door need to get over there. I can't tell if anyone's been to shovel yet or not. I personally don't plan on leaving the house today.

School kids struck out a nice marching tune to welcome passengers on an airline's inaugural flight to Kunming in 1994 . This was captured on negative film and the print was scanned recently and restored in ' photoshop ' to make it presentable again .
