“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal."
-- Matthew 6:19-20 ESV

The Dyersburg Courthouse Square Historic District in Dyersburg, Tennessee, (added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 28, 1991) consists of the Dyer County Courthouse; the buildings surrounding the courthouse on Court St, Mill St, Market St, & Main St; as well as the two hundred block & the even-numbered side of the three hundred block of West Court St, up to and including the former Greyhound Bus Depot; and a portion of the two hundred block of South Mill Ave. This is the City Drug Company building constructed in 1886 and located on the northwest corner of the square. It is a two-story brick commercial building with decorative brick cornice & two horizontal bands. The storefront display window has "City Drug Co." spelled out in glazed tiles beneath the window (added circa 1935) and the entrance is flanked by a pair of masonry Tuscan columns which indicates a Neo-Classical influence. This building housed a drug store since the early 1900's.
More information about the historical district can be found on the original documents submitted to the NRHP for listing consideration found here:

City Drug has been in business since the early 1900s, and as far back as 1921 it's been in the same location. It's quite possible that City Drug has been in business longer than New Mexico has been a state. (Jan, 6, 1912) The sign is an old one that lost its neon long ago. Clayton, New Mexico. 4.5.2017.
