Located in the heart of San Francisco, Osha Thai Restaurant and Bar offers a visually stunning dining experience that perfectly blends modern design with traditional Thai aesthetics. As soon as you approach, you’re greeted by a lush exterior adorned with vibrant florals and greenery, setting the tone for an inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's architecture is a feast for the eyes, featuring a contemporary take on Thai elegance with sleek lines, wooden accents, and a color palette that exudes warmth.
Inside, the design continues to impress with ambient lighting, strategically placed to highlight the restaurant's architectural details. The open-concept layout creates a sense of spaciousness while still providing intimate nooks for diners. Large windows and soft lighting make it a prime location for enjoying both a casual meal and a special occasion.
Osha Thai’s exterior features modern landscaping that complements the restaurant’s urban vibe, complete with an alfresco dining area that's ideal for soaking in the energy of the city. The lush greenery and hanging florals add a tropical touch, while the use of natural wood and metal contrasts beautifully with the vibrant surroundings, creating an urban oasis feel.
Known for its sophisticated ambiance and exquisite cuisine, Osha Thai has established itself as a landmark in San Francisco's dining scene. Whether you're drawn by the design, the food, or the atmosphere, this spot has become a must-visit for locals and visitors alike.
The City Restaurant on the Southside, next to the Festival Theatre, something of a landmark diner in Edinburgh. They've changed the colour scheme from the previous postbox red they had last time I snapped a shot of it - www.flickr.com/photos/woolamaloo_gazette/32689160367/
The City Restaurant, long a landmark in Edinburgh, Scots-Italian fish and chip shop and sit-in diner that has over the years expanded and remade itself as new generations of the family take over running it. It used to famously have a bright red facade almost the same hue as the old Victorian post box next to it (that you can also see in this pic).
It was made over again to the newer paint scheme and expanded into the upstairs as well, plus adding the superb fish mural that now covers the whole of the external side wall that faces the neighbouring Festival Theatre. Still has the same excellent chips and still very popular with locals and visitors alike. Quick handheld night shot with the phone when walking home from an event.
Love this, huge fish mural on the side of the City Restaurant, presumably to advertise their fish and chips. I have no idea how long it has been on there, as it is tucked away on the side of the building in a narrow space between it and the neighbouring theatre, very easy to walk past without seeing it, somehow it caught my eye as I walked by today.
I keep meaning to get a picture of the City Restaurant, I just like the big, solid, square block of redness to it and the fact that it goes with the old post box next to it (on the right), which is and old Victorian one, with the hexagonal body (modern ones rounded) and "VR" for "Victoria Regina" where modern ones would be "ER" for Queen Liz. It's a busy road but I finally managed to get a shot with no passing cars in the way!
