A fortunate, well-timed capture. In the early hours, fog is typically dense near the waterfront and quite thick in certain areas.
I used my telephoto lens to zoom in, then adjusted my polarizer sufficiently to reveal the stunning sunbeams.

Downtown Seattle WA is where I spend most of my time, capturing various perspectives of its skyscrapers with my camera and lens, transforming ordinary perspectives into extraordinary art.

Living around Seattle, you get use to the overcast cloudy days, I use them to my advantage. I think clouds can be moody and bring character to a scene. I captured the morning light peaking through the clouds onto the new waterfront areas.

I had fun setting up the best perspective I thought worked for this image, along the ferry terminal walkway in Seattle. Getting up early and beating the traffic into Seattle was planned, but this shot was just pure luck, ok and some skills and good equipment.
I love the study of shadow and light and how well it can be used in a photo to demand attention from its onlookers.

This photo capture was taken from Jack Block Park looking towards Seattle, with so many good views from Alki Beach, this one stood out. This old pier was fenced off and closed because of age.
