La grue couronnée grise est originaire d'Afrique. Elle vit dans les prairies situées à proximité des points d’eau. Elle mesure environ 90 cm et pèse de 3 à 4 kgs. Elle vit de 40 à 50 ans.
La grue couronnée grise est omnivore d’ailleurs et est un "excellent pesticide" lors des invasions de criquets.

ESPÈCE MENACÉE : par le commerce illégal, par la dégradation, les changements et la perte de l’habitat.

Fleurons de tournesol (Helianthus annuus)

Les fleurs centrales (fleurons) du tournesol sont disposées en spirales selon les règles de la phyllotaxie. Certaines spirales tournent dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre et d'autres dans le inverse. Les nombres de fleurons de chaque type de spirale (sens horaire ou antihoraire) sont constants. Leur nombre correspond aux nombres successifs de la suite de Fibonacci (1175 - 1250) mathématicien qui étudia la copulation des lapins. La suite de Fibonacci est suite de nombres telle que chaque nombre est la somme des deux précédents : 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377, 610, 987, 1597, 2584, 4181, 6765, 10946,...). Ainsi, le nombre de spirales en sens horaires et antihoraire peuvent être respectivement 21 et 34 par exemple.

Taken around 3:30 in the morning July 5th. 4 second exposure. Selected the Space Needle and applied solarize feature in light curves adjustments. I like the mother of pearl look it gave to the needle, although it changed the location of the highlights.

I would have liked to see more lights in the windows of the buildings for the photo but I figure several things account for the low number. 1. The day after a national holiday. 2. 3:30 in the morning ( probably would be more at say 9 or 10pm.) 3. Trying to save electricity. 4. Downturn of the economy ( less office workers; less lights ). I figure the Sunday following the 4th of July is probably why there are so few lights though.

Moving Pictures.

A blue and red sofa used in a stage production getting placed into a yellow moving van. The solid colors made me think of taking a picture and since it was being moved it made me think of "moving pictures". In tribute to the album by RUSH
Seen in Fremont, Seattle. Washington. I put the black into the bottom in photoshop because the background was distracting.
