I saw these two lovely girls--Alisa with her pink hair, and Karoliina wearing a black T-shirt--at the Comics Festival in Helsinki and approached them for a portrait. It is always so inspiring when people respond with an open mind and share some thoughts together.
"Karoliina, what inspires you? What do you love about yourself?
"Artistically I'm mostly inspired by my own lived experiences, past and present emotions and personal relationships. But in the end, anything I see, do and hear could be potentially inspiring.
In the past I used to hate and try to avoid the fact that I'm so sensitive and emotional, but these days I love myself for facing and embracing that trait and all that comes with it. You could say I love myself for learning to love myself for all that I am, despite the challenges.
I love the fact that I try my best to be the change I want to see in the world. I treat others with love and respect, and intentionally try to grow as a person every day."
"What would you say to the world if you could send a message out there?"
"Be kind. You never know what the other person might be going through - and trust me, you don't want to add up to the weight some people are facing by being nasty for no good reason at all."
"What would you advise your younger self, Karoliina?"
"It gets better, and you deserve better. Be kind towards yourself. There's nothing wrong with you."
"Do you have an inspirational figure in your life?"
"Hard to choose just one, but basically anyone I know who has overcome major challenges in their life. I think all of my loved ones fit this criteria."
"And last, what do you like to do in your spare time?"
"Mostly I like to create art, play instruments and sing, watch movies and tv-shows, play video-games, spend time with my loved ones, walk in nature, and exercise in general."

"Alisa, what inspires you and what do you love about yourself?"
"I feel inspired by fine arts, feelings, nature and the people and happenings in my life.
I love my creativity, persistent attitude and ability for love and kindness."
"What would you say to the world if you could send a message out there?"
"Empathy is a super power, approach the world around you with an open mind and kindness."
"What would you advise your younger self, Alisa?"
"To trust in herself, tell her she is exactly what she needs to be."
"Is there an inspirational figure in your life?"
"Hard to say, every single person in my circle has something I admire and aspire to be."
"And what do you like to do in your spare time?"
"Art and more art but also play video-games, watch movies, spend time outside, be with my loved ones and enjoy the small things in my daily life."
Thanks so much, guys, I've enjoyed looking at your art, taking the photos of you and getting to know you a bit.
Take care, you beautiful people !
