Pouring concrete for a new roundabout in Fife, WA by WSDOT

Pouring concrete for a new roundabout in Fife, WA

Crews on the SR 167 Completion Project in Pierce County, WA pour and spread concrete for a new roundabout.

The roundabout is located on 54th Avenue East. It's directly below the future SR 167 expressway. People on the new expressway will be able to exit here to drop down onto surface streets. People on 54th Avenue will eventually have an on ramp to enter the expressway and head northeast toward I-5.

The SR 167 Completion Project is part of the Puget Sound Gateway Program. The project is building 6 miles of new highway between SR 410 in Puyallup to SR 509 near the Port of Tacoma, completing a vital link for Washington's freight system.

Building a new sidewalk takes teamwork by WSDOT

Building a new sidewalk takes teamwork

A crew works together to build a new sidewalk along State Route 516 in Kent, WA. Two workers focus on leveling the concrete with a wooden plank while one spreads the concrete as it is poured from the mixer.

Once the sidewalk is complete, this intersection will be safer and more pedestrian friendly. This work is a part of the SR 509 Completion project, which connects SR 509 to Interstate 5 and improves the I-5/SR 516 interchange and local roads.

The SR 509 Completion project is part of the Puget Sound Gateway program, which completes the missing links in Washington state's highway and freight network.
