An albumen print of a photograph of a cleric in full priestly garb topped with the traditional biretta. Father John O'Sullivan of Kenmare would have ministered to the people of the locality during the horrendous years of the famines through the 1840s!

The spectacular Healy Pass is a road (the R574) that crosses south-west Ireland's Beara peninsula, between County Kerry in the north and County Cork in the south, rising to 334 metres above sea level at its summit.
This view is looking towards the northern coast of the Beara peninsula in County Kerry. The border with County Cork is close to this spot, in the opposite direction. The body of water down in the valley is Glanmore Lake.
The folk with the white car had also stopped to admire the view, which was breathtaking even in these somewhat gloomy conditions.
