In the 1990s the historic Madison County Courthouse in Fredericktown, Missouri, was preserved and restored. This is the Circuit Courtroom, still in use, although an ADA-compliant judicial building is now under construction a block away.

The building in the back is the Phoenix Municipal Court, Valdemar A. Cordova Building, 300 West Washington Street, Phoenix, Arizona. This 1999 building houses 38 courtrooms. It dwarfs the older building in front at 30 North 3rd Avenue. This building, which dates from 1920, was known as the J.M. Walker Building when it was built. This Neo-Classical building was designed by Lee Fitzhugh.

The building once contained three separate courtrooms, barristers’ chambers, legal offices, and cells for the accused.
Now owned by National Museums Liverpool, the building houses a lecture theatre and other research facilities relating to the organisation’s many art galleries.
