After battling my way along a mud slide that used to be a path on a dark damp morning I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of this fellow.

A hike in the hills of the Faroe Islands on my way to the Viking village of Kvivik.
Just got back from my summer explore, so this is a first for me. The sea mist came down just as this fellow decided to put on a show. very poor light. Husavik Iceland
This tiny orchid does not have roots in the true sense of the word. It survives via a fungi at the base of the stem which has a coral like appearance hence the name. Without this fungi it would die.

I had a good view of the Water rail yesterday. This very secretive bird was right out in the open until the coots chased it off.
I managed to get a better shot of this little Blkcap today. I found that she will almost go anywhere for a bit of apple.

early morning exercise a bit of tree climbing. I watch this little mouse trying to get to the bird feeders, so after the photograph I left it a treat, but on the ground!
A busy morning not only the water rail but the KF as well stopped by for lunch. A real treat. The duck weed has now cleared quite a bit.
Another little sedge warbler in super condition.
A touch of spring. It looked a bit worse for wear so it must have just come out of hibernation.Hope the weather stays kind.
