When the spring thaw begins in Alaska, just walking can be dangerous. Recently I have seen a couple of people take a tumble, resulting in minor injuries. In this photo - Doc is negotiating the stairs at our local bank. Anxious to shed his heavy boots - he opted for sneakers on this day. I didn't want to "watch" as he came down the snow packed steel stairs - but yet, I couldn't "not watch".
Happy breakup to my fellow Alaskans - and try to stay upright until we are ice free.
