Three shots taken through the front nearside screen of former Hutchings & Cornelius Harrington bodied Dennis Lancet UF type YYB 118 while taking part in the North Norfolk Railway’s Vintage Transport Weekend based at their Holt Station over the weekend of 6th/7th July 2024.
In this second shot Sanders former Reading Buses East Lancs bodied Scania N94UD Omnidekka types, number 119 - YN06 JWP - “PORTHOS” is caught by my camera in very bright late afternoon sunshine as it pulls away from the bus stop on High Street (A149) at East Runton with the above service 44A journey.
In the background we can just get a glimpse of the North Sea. Curiously this same vehicle and journey were also captured at East Runton last year - see below.
Vehicle type: VR24 VAR
Fleet no: 131
Vehicle type: Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC
Operator: Sanders Coaches
Route: X41 - Norwich via Cromer, Crossdale Street, Roughton, Alby, Aylsham (Norwich Road), Hellesdon (Cromer Road), Aylsham Road and Anglia Square.
Location: Cromer Road, East Runton
Date: 6 July 2024
On a very damp and gloomy Sunday afternoon, Sanders Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5TL type number 125 - SA71 SAN "Shelby Anne Sanders" is caught by my camera on the A149 as it approaches East Runton with the above Sheringham bound service X41 journey. Reintroduced from last Sunday, Daily limited stop service X41 omits Suffield Park, but over the Alby Horseshoes - Hellesdon The Firs/Tesco section it deviates from the service X40 route to additionally serve the Bure Meadows and Tesco/Bure Valley Railway stops in Aylsham, before continuing non-stop to Hellesdon. On Saturday & Sunday service X41 replaces service X40.
On this day, the seven double and eight single deck buses required to operate the Sunday timetable on services CH1/CH2/44/44A/X41/X44/54 & X55 were as follows, 125/126/127/128/129/131 & 132; 519/524/525/526/527/528/529 & 530.
Assuming the above is correct, today is very special in the history of Sanders Coaches, as it is probably the first time this number of vehicles, out in service on any one day, have all been owned from new and every one is less than three years old - unless someone knows otherwise.
