Evoluon by Guillaume lucas

Evoluon

One of my favorite buildings here is the Evoluon. Not only because it’s shaped like a flying saucer, but because it’s also beautifully lit and built in an open space, giving you very special sci-fi vibes. And again, the snow is just adding to the scene. I walked 2 hours in the cold before taking this shot, and it was more than worth it.
Hope you like it!

The VANABBE Museum

A few more landmarks and I’ll change the theme of the posts! I love culture, especially art and anything related to visuals. So today is a post about art :)
This is the entrance of the @vanabbemuseum, during winter. I think the contrast between the orange bricks and the snow is charming, such a pleasant scene!

Vesteda - Black and White by Guillaume lucas

Vesteda - Black and White

Eindhoven has a few towers, and of course you will see them here. The first time I took a picture of the Vesteda tower, I thought black and white was the only suitable way of displaying this tower. One day I had the chance to take pictures at night, in the fog, and I changed my mind. The colors from the different apartments and the glow gave it something mystical, that gives the impression this tower has no end.

Ketelhuisplein... Under the snow

It’s time to show you Ketelhuisplein again, in a different way. I love this place because it changes from day to day, is quite big, empty and unique.
I hope you like the comparison between yesterday’s and today’s shot.

Let me know which one you prefer in the comment, the market version or the snow version?

Ketelhuisplein, a long time ago

It’s the weekend and it’s time to show you another spot I appreciate in Eindhoven.
Ketelhuisplein.

I spent a lot of time taking pictures in / from this place. You can even find it in some of my projects.
This photo was taken when the feel good market could still happen without restrictions, but can someone tell me from what year this picture is?
Some of you will notice some buildings have been built, and some destroyed since!
Tomorrow, same place, same composition, different time. Stay tuned!

The blob
Of course you can’t make a series about Eindhoven without a photo of the Blob.
No real story today, but the Blob will return!

The Scene by Guillaume lucas

The Scene

In this 4-year journey, you’ll see things you can’t see anymore in Eindhoven, because the city changes really fast. This street art is still there. This light is still there. However, the color of the light changed, and now ruins the atmosphere of the scene.
I’m glad I captured this while it still had its charm.

Serious

When you photograph a versatile model, it feels like shooting someone new every single time. Confidence being the only constant.

Old fashion

Oh it's been a while since my last black and white photo. Experimenting with clothes on that one was pretty fun. I'm not a fashion photographer, but some of the shots from this series reminds me of iconic magazine shots.

I had the chance to shoot a new model and I'll be sharing this as a series.
This is the first time I'm working with a model repeatedly and I think you'll be able to see the progression.

I will be focusing on this series for a while, and I will also increase my posting rate for this occasion, so more content for you all :)

Big shoutout to my model!

Obviously today is about the other dancer of the duo I was referring to in my last post, Vitória. I wanted to break my feed of similar portraits, that is now done!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH by Guillaume lucas

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I mostly shot very serious portraits. I had trouble experimenting. One day, I met 2 professional dancers and we wanted to collaborate all together. It was the second time I would have a photo shoot with 2 models, and those are still tricky to me as I’m not used to having more than one model. Turns out I got comfortable very quickly as they were very comfortable in front of the camera. I selected a background I really liked and decided to go for portraits. As I was changing my camera settings to suit the scene, Federica was having fun trying different poses and I ended up shooting this photo.
I love how the people I’ve met through my photographic journey helped me to be a better photographer, and I’m very thankful for that.

Thanks again to all my models!

Street portrait

I think you've seen enough of me, it's now time to see other people. I've been asked multiple times "Why don't you do portraits?" I actually do. I don't share them quite often as I like to propose something different, and during the past years, photographers around me seemed to mostly shoot portraits, so I kind of lost interest.
Thanks to fortunate encounters, I met wonderful people that allowed me to photograph them. Mostly strangers in the street, and more recently models.

I'm starting today with one of my best spontaneous encounters, someone that shared their past with me, something I really appreciated and I am selfishly keeping for myself.

The road ahead

Lots of aspects come together in this image.

From the traffic sign, to the three arrows above it, to the white and dark line in the top edges.
