One of my frequent locations during the winter months is an out-of-the-way place, Fish Island near Lake Barkley Lodge in Kentucky. It is a haven for numerous species of sparrows. I just discovered this one, as it was cross-filed in my American Tree Sparrow folder.
This is a female Northern Cardinal transitioning through the molting stage. Photographed in the backyard setup.
Another of these visited the backyard setup on this day.
I hadn't seen one of these in years, since my last visit to the Hershey Butterfly House in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
This was another rare one to see on the grounds at Strawberry Plains Audubon Center in Holly Springs, Mississippi. In about two hours, FlyFisherMike and I had numerous species documented.
More of these are beginning to show up in the public gardens at Shelby Farms in Memphis, Tennessee.
The ideal pose for a White-breasted Nuthatch. Allen (asparks306) and I spotted several of these on the grounds at Strawberry Plains Audubon Center in Holly Springs, Mississippi. All were making their way to a cache of bark butter.

Gulfs and Monarchs are now in the Dixon Gardens in Memphis, Tennessee.
Since returning from a relaxing trip to the Mississippi and Alabama gulf, I have spotted a couple of these in the Memphis region. Photographed in the public gardens at Shelby Farms.
Another one of these was seen at a pier in Pass Christian, Mississippi. Slowly, I am beginning to sort and process images from a trip to the Alabama and Mississippi Gulf area. It will take some time processing about 2,000+ images.
These are prominent at Hatchie NWR near Brownsville, Tennessee. Allen (asparks306) spotted this one in the field adjacent to Oneal Lake.
