1978 Yamaha FS1 DX DK.
For many years almost every danish teenage boy dreamed of having one of these iconic Yamaha mopeds. Sure there were other brands like Honda, Kreidler, Suzuki and Puch, but the Yamaha was undisputed king.
Top speed was restricted to 30 km/h by danish law, but cheating the law was seen by many as an exciting challenge, and the Yamaha was easy to "mess with" and there were countless stories of amazing top speeds and customizations... some were surely exaggerated, but 90 km/h was absolutely possible.
The downside to the popularity was, of course, that thieves loved the Yamaha as well and if one was unfortunate to live in "the wrong part of town", it would be almost impossible to own a Yamaha for a longer period without having it stolen.
The annual CRAA (Classic Race Aarhus) vintage motoring event attracts an ever increasing participation from both drivers and spectators.
The classic car parks of the event (there are 2, one outside by the main entrance and one in "Mindeparken") are always a good place to spot interesting vintage vehicles from practically any era of motoring. Many visitors spend a lot of time here, enjoying the sights.
