The first series delta was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and released in 1979 and introduced in Britain in 1980 they remained almost unchanged until 1986 with small changes to the body shape and engines were uprated. most Delta models were ordinary small family cars but like the Subaru Imprezza have remained more famous for the performance and rally cars

The Integrale was introduced in 1987 and for the first eight months was known simply as the HF 4WD with a 165bhp turbo charged engine. But it became the Integrale wearing flared arches and winning International rallies. Yet it had five doors and remained a practical family hatchback. In 1989 the power was increased to from 185bhp to 200bhp with a 16 valve head finally reaching 210bhp

The Sceptre MK III, introduced in 1967 as a the top of the range derivative of the Rootes Arrow series, replacing the Super Minx style Sceptre Mk.II. It continued Humber's tradition of building luxury cars and featured wood-veneer fascia, complete instrumentation, adjustable steering column, vinyl roof and extra brightwork on the wheel arches and rear panel. The MK III had a more powerful version of the 1,725 cc (105.3 cu in) engine with twin carburettors giving 87 bhp. As with all models in the Arrow range, an automatic gearbox was an option. A closer ratio G-type gearbox was fitted to later Sceptres, using the J-type overdrive. An estate car variant of the Sceptre was introduced at the London Motor Show in October 1974.

BMW M5 Touring (G99)

Oostzaan, Nederland

I'm usually not a fan of matte finishes on cars (especialy not matte black), but in this case, matte green definitely works. It's a great color on the newest M5, which finally has a Touring version again.

The Super Minx was an elongated and restyled Minx, intriduced as a family car and in production with various updates from 1961-67.

Announced in October 1961, the Super Minx gave Rootes, and particularly its Hillman marque, an expanded presence in the upper reaches of the family car market., an Estate car joined the range in May 1962, and a two-door convertible in June 1962. initially powered by a 1592cc engine.

The Series II was unveiled in October 1962 with greasing points eliminated, larger front disc brakes and a revised axle ratio. For buyers choosing the Automatic option, the e Smiths Easidrive option was replaced by the Borg-Warner 35 transmission

The Mark III arrived in 1964 with a facelift, and the wrap-around rear window gave way to a new six light design with a larger side windows beyond the rear side doors. The windscreen and side windows were also made taller and the roof-line flatter.

The final incarnation, the Mark IV was revealed at the Earls Court, British Motorshow in October 1965 with an increased engine capacity of 1725cc

Originally launched as the Hillman Avenger by the Rootes Group in 1970, as a rear wheel drive, small family car, with the advertising tag - The Myth Exploder, and available as a Saloon or Estate car with 1248cc or 1498cc S4 OHV engines.
Rootes production of the Avenger spanned 1970-76 before the Coventry based operation was taken over by Chrysler of Europe, who continued with production at Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Coventry between 1976-79. Unlike any previous Rootes design, there were no badge-engineered Humber or Singer versions in the UK market.

From 1976 under Chrysler stewardship the model was rebadged and had a comprehensive face lift, including new frontal treatment, a new dashboard. The greatest changes were at the rear where distinctive light cluster was replaced and the fuel filler cap moved from the rear to the right hand side. During this period the Avenger was exported to the USA as the Plymouth Cricket.,

Following the departure of Chrysler the Avenger continued in production under new owners Talbot between 1979-81 under the Talbot brand with the Avenger remaining in production alongside the hatchback-only Horizon to meet the demand which remained for traditional saloons and estates in this sector Unlike newer Talbot models such as the Horizon, the Avenger and Sunbeam retained the Chrysler Pentastar badge, instead of the Talbot logo featuring a letter T inside a circle. Production continued until the middle of 1981, when PSA closed the Linwood production plant and concentrated all British production at the Ryton plant

Even then the car continued to be produced in Argentina as the Dodge 1500 between 1971-88

Designed by Henry and Edsel Ford, the Model A was the second huge success for Ford following on from the Model T and available in four standard colours. A true world car with assembly plants in the USA, Canada, Argentina, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, England and Australia and with at least 31 body styles. Introduced in 1927 for the 1928 model year in four standard colours. By February 4, 1929, one million Model A's had been sold, and by July 24, two million, in March 1930 sales passed the three million mark. Model A production ended in March 1932, after 4,858,644 had been made in all body styles. The engine was a water-cooled L-head inline four with a displacement of 201 cu in (3.3 L) with a 40hp output

In Europe some model A's were fitted with a 2033cc engine to reduce the effect of punitive fiscal horsepower taxation, but it was still classified as a 14.9HP. Larger cars attracted a tax rating of around £1 per horse power, meaning a car with the original US engine would have cost £40 per annum to tax against a still very steep £ 15 with the smaller engine.

The 1930 and 1931 editions came with stainless steel radiator cowling and headlamp housings.

Sharing the same under pan and suspension with the earlies Granada and the square cut appearance of the Mk.IV Cortina. It was a development of the earlier car, the main differences being the Cologne; V6 engine in 2.0 L, 2.3 L and 2.8 L forms replacing the older Essex unit (which had never been offered in the Cologne built Granadas), and the introduction of features such as air conditioning and, for the top-price 2.8-litre versions, fuel-injection. UK market Granada IIs were imported from Germany

A special Ford of Britain only marketing pack edition of the Ghia X model was later introduced as the Ford Granada Ghia X Executive which standardised luxury appointments such as the high grade Connolly Leather interior that had previously been an optional fitment. Further refinements such an electric sunroof, electric opening boot on saloons, electric seat adjustment, heated seats, trip computer and air conditioning set the Granada Ghia X above most other cost comparable executive cars available in the UK in the early eighties

In the late 1960s, Ford set about developing the third-generation Cortina, the Mark III, which would be produced in higher volumes than before following the merger of Ford of Britain and Ford of Germany into the modern-day Ford of Europe. The car marked the convergence of the German Taunus and British Cortina platforms with only minor differences between the two, hence the car's internal name TC1, standing for Taunus-Cortina. It was also the last European car engineered by Harley Copp as vice president of engineering and head of Brentwood, before he returned to Detroit.

The Mark III Detroit-inspired coke bottle shaped Cortina TC was a hit amongst fleet buyers. It replaced both the Cortina Mark II and the larger, more expensive Ford Corsair by offering a wider range of trim levels and the option of larger engines than the Mark II. Although the Mark III looked significantly larger than the boxier Mark II, it was actually the same overall length, but 4 inches (100 mm) wider. Within the overall length, a wheelbase lengthened by more than 3 inches (76 mm) also contributed to the slightly more spacious interior.

Trim levels were now Base, L (for Luxury), XL (Xtra Luxury), GT (Grand Touring) and GXL (Grand Xtra Luxury). 1.3 L, 1.6 L and 2.0 L engines were offered, the 1.6 L having two distinct types - the Kent unit for models up to GT trim and a SOHC Pinto unit for the GT and GXL, the latter of which was also offered in 1600 form for a short while. 2.0 L variants used a larger version of the 1600 Pinto unit and were available in all trim levels except base.

Four headlights and Rostyle wheels marked out the GT and GXL versions, while the GXL also had bodyside rub strips, a vinyl roof and a brushed metal and black tail panel on the GXL and plain black one on the GT.

In late 1973 following a facelift, the Cortina was redesignated TD. Outside, there were revised grilles, rectangular headlights for the XL, GT and the new 2000E (the E standing for executive), which replaced the GXL.

The 1.3 L Kent engine was carried over but now, 1.6 L models all used the more modern 1.6 L SOHC engine. Whilst the TD Cortina still had double A-arm suspension with coils at the front and a four-link system at the rear, handling was improved. Inside, the car received a neater dashboard that no longer sloped away from the driver's line of sight and upgraded trim. The 2000E reverted to the classy treatment offered by the 1600E and later Ghia models instead of the faux wood-grain trim offered by the GXL

First shown at the 1950 London Motor Show as a family saloon car, with the body designed by George Walker of the parent United States Ford company. While the vast majority were 4 door saloons a number of Estates were built by coachbuilders Abbott, and a Convertible built by Carbodies became available from 1953.
The new 1508 cc 47 bhp had overhead valves and hydraulic clutch operation, advanced for its day but the miodel retained a three speed gearbox with synchromesh only on second and top,
The Consul was also the first British production car to use the now-common MacPherson strut independent front suspension and was the first British Ford with modern unibody construction.

With the model down graded from from the full-size C platform-body to the mid-size B platform-body line up for the 1977 model year. The entire 1977 Dodge Monaco lineup received a make-over. The previous model year's full-size C-body Dodge Monaco (from 1976) became, just for one year only, the full-size C-body 1977 Dodge Royal Monaco until its discontinuation from all production at the end of the 1977 model year.. The 1977 Dodge Monaco Brougham four-door sedan replaced the previous year's Coronet Brougham four-door sedan, with the main visual difference being a revised front-end design with stacked rectangular headlamps.

The Traction Avant, not sold in Britain after 1955. The advanced style and development cost of the Traction Avant almost drove Citroen to financial ruin and resulted in a takeover by Michelin. The car came with a heavy steering, excellent road holding a three speed transmission and 12 volt electrics. Designed by Andre Lefebvre and Flaminio Bertoni and produced in monocoque form, which until some very extravagant public crash tests met with customer resistance. Left hand drive cars were produced in Paris, Belgium and Denmark and marketed under their French model numbers based on thier fiscal ratings as 7CV, 11CV and 15CV, right hand drive cars were made at Slough as Light Fifteen, Big Fifteen, and Big Six in accordance with British fiscal ratings.,

Slough built Light 15's all had right hand drive with chromium plated radiators wood and leather trim, 12 volt electrics and came in a choice of colours. From 1953 projecting rear boot.

The 1950-54 Chevrolet set style pattern that would last for years with the Hardtop ( a convertible with a non-detachable solid roof) expanded across the GM range. From 1950 to 1952, the Bel Air Sport Coupe name was used only for the two-door hardtops in the Chevrolet model range, to distinguish the car from the Styleline and Fleetline models. Apart from the usual annual grille and trim changes, the 1951–1952 Bel Air differed from the earlier 1950 model with the introduction of the higher and squarer rear guards that were across the whole range.

For 1953 the range the Bel Air name applied to the top of the range models, the two lower models were named 150 and 210 and the range rebodied although essentially the mechanics remained the same the Bel Air featured a wide chrome moulding from the fender to the rear bumper the inside of which was painted in a co-ordinating colour and Bel Air scripts appeared. The Blue Flame in line six engine came in two options a 215 Ci and a 235 Ci Revisions for 1954 include new grille with five vertical pieces, oblong parking lights new medalion and tail lights. 1953 was the first year for a curved, one-piece windshield. The lower-cost Thriftmaster option installed on manual transmission cars was replaced by the larger Thrift King a lower compression version of the 235.5 cu in (3.9 L) Blue Flame engine producing 108 hp

Chevrolet re-organised its line-up for 1949, rationalising the range into two Series - Special (basic) and Deluxe - both of which featured Styleline (notchback) and Fleetline (fastback) body styles. In 1952 the Fastback model was dropped along with the Styleline name. At the time of launch the only engine available was the Stovebolt 216.5ci (3,549cc) overhead-valve six. The latter had continued unchanged for many years prior to the introduction of GM's Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission in 1951, when a 235.5ci (3.9-litre) version became available.

This car has had a quoted £ 160,000 spent on it with a full restoration and rally preparation and is ready to rally. The owner being a veteran Peking-Paris entrant
