A black and white framed photo shows the owner's grandparents opening in 1929 (Showa 4). And since the current couple are in their 70s or more, this scene of the homey interior will come to its final day before too long. None of the next generation wish to do this work downtown now. Or at least they have other livelihoods now. Handwritten signs, simple money till on the shelf, delivery boxes pressed against the kitchen window, noren curtains offering a peek to the interior where the tasty food of a couple dozen offerings is prepared. All this will end, as all things one day do. Until that day, though, this elegy is premature. There is time for one more meal at the restaurant.
